Monsta x Is All About Love
Monsta X have had their fare share of ups and downs over the past year, but nothing can take away from the fact that they’ve made their mark on the Western pop industry. It all began with ‘Who Do You Love’, their collaborative track featuring French Montana that graced charts across the world for months on end!
The star-studded Kpop band recently dropped their debut English album ‘All About Luv’ on Valentine’s Day and now, they’ve managed to score the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 Album charts, and we are just thrilled. According to Nielsen Music, “All About Luv” earned a total of 52,000 equivalent album units—50,000 of which consisted of traditional album sales—during the week ending on February 20th.
Speaking about the album, the boys explained, “‘This album talks about relationships, and things that we are all dealing with on a daily basis. We hope that our Monbebe (fans) all over the world will like it, and spread the word, after all, it’s all about luv.’
Though, interestingly enough, they aren’t the only Kpop band to release an entirely English album, JYJ also dropped ‘The Beginning Back’ in 2010, and they’ve also achieved success by landing a spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart.
Now coming back to ‘All About Luv’, the album features artists like Pitbull on the track – ‘Beside U’, French Montana on the catchy, ‘Who Do U Love?’ along with a Will.i.am and Steve Aoki for a string of electro-pop remixes.
While the band will soon be kicking off their tour, fans are still understandably upset by the fact that Wonho won’t be joining them, after his departure from the band last year. This is particularly because the singer has still worked with the boys on the album, which is truly heartbreaking.
We truly hope that this year treats the boys better.
