The album was released on 13th May and nearly lost out to Florence + The Machine’s ‘Dance Fever’ for the UK Number One album after a fierce chart war. In the United States, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ became Lamar’s fourth number one album on the Billboard 200, and the year’s fastest-selling album. According to Billboard, the album smashes the previous week’s record, which was set by Bad Bunny’s new album ‘Un Verano Sin Ti.’

It also made an impression on Eminem, who described it to be ‘f****** ridiculous’, and also mentioned that it left him speechless.

Lamar’s ‘The Big Steppers’ tour will take him throughout the world later this year. The tour will begin on 19th July with a string of US dates before heading to Europe and the United Kingdom in October and November, with two gigs at The O2 in London from 7th to 8th November.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was described by NME as a ‘ cathartic, soul-baring autobiography’ that ‘serves up stories about what it’s like to be a Black adult whose trauma still haunts them’ in a five-star review.
