Natalie Dormer Reveals How She Learned About ‘Captain America’s’ Kissing Scene With Chris Evans
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peggy Carter may be remembered as a key figure in Steve Rogers’ romantic history, but she wasn’t the first to share a kiss with the iconic hero. Before Chris Evans’ ‘Captain America’ locked lips with Hayley Atwell’s Peggy in “Captain America: The First Avenger,” he shared an on-screen kiss with Natalie Dormer’s character. Although Dormer’s role was brief in the 2011 film directed by Joe Johnston, this kiss remains Steve Rogers’ first in the MCU.
Despite Evans’ departure from the MCU following his role in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which saw him pass the mantle of ‘Captain America’ to Sam Wilson, the discussion around his character continues.

Dormer recently revisited her role in an interview with Comicbook.com, reflecting on her brief but memorable appearance. She recounted the experience with a hint of amusement, saying, “I’m sure she found an even keel and became a very responsible, hardworking member of society.” Dormer added,
“That character, yeah, that was just, you know, that was just fun.”
In a follow-up to her role in the MCU, Dormer’s character in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ shares a kiss with Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter, Peggy’s niece. Sharon Carter, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, represents another chapter in Steve Rogers’ romantic journey.
Currently, Dormer is making waves with her role in Guillem Morales’ psychological thriller ‘The Wasp’, alongside Naomie Harris. The film, based on Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s play, explores the deep emotional connection between two women reuniting after years of separation. During her promotional tour, Dormer highlighted the similarities between her character and Harris’s, noting their shared experiences of trauma.
