A new documentary exploring the explosive feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake earlier this year has been announced. According to Deadline, the UK’s Channel 4 has approved the documentary titled ‘Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake’. While a release date and broadcast plans for the US have not yet been revealed,
‘Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake’ will feature archival footage and new interviews with individuals who have collaborated with the rappers. The film aims to delve into how the rivalry became so widely recognized while placing their careers within the context of the contemporary history and culture that shaped them.
The documentary will also address Kendrick Lamar’s allegations against Drake, which he notably referenced in ‘Meet The Grahams’ and ‘Not Like Us’. Acme Films, which produced the 2017 documentary ‘Public Enemies: Jay-Z vs Kanye’, will also be behind this Kendrick vs Drake project.
Channel 4’s Shaminder Nahal said in a statement to Deadline: “Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake is not just a biography. It’s a cultural exploration of two of the most influential voices in modern music. This documentary will delve into the unique journeys of Kendrick and Drake, examining how their backgrounds, talents, and visions have made them global icons.”

Earlier this year, Lamar and Drake exchanged a series of diss tracks, escalating their rivalry. The feud came to a head when Drake released his diss track ‘The Heart Part 6’, in which he suggested that Lamar’s criticisms were based on false information provided by Drake’s team. He also denied the allegations of pedophilia made against him by Kendrick Lamar in ‘Meet The Grahams’. The conflict began with Lamar’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’ back in March, where he responded to J. Cole’s assertion about the “hardest MCs” being K-Dot, Aubrey, or himself, referring to them as the “big three” like they had started a league.
Drake retaliated with two tracks, ‘Push Ups’ and ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’. The latter featured AI emulating Tupac’s vocals, which prompted the late rapper’s estate to threaten legal action, leading Drake to remove the diss from streaming platforms. Lamar then responded with ‘Euphoria’ on May 1 and quickly followed up with ‘6:16 in LA’ the next day. ‘The Heart Part 6’ marks the latest exchange in their ongoing feud. Before this, Kendrick Lamar released ‘Not Like Us’. The day prior, both rappers dropped diss tracks an hour apart, with Drake releasing ‘Family Matters’, to which Lamar swiftly responded with ‘Meet The Grahams’.

In other news, Lamar was recently named the headline performer for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show: “I don’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home. Let’s go.”
He also recently dropped a new single on social media, although it hasn’t yet made its way to any streaming platforms. Reportedly titled ‘Watch The Party Die’, according to Variety, it was revealed earlier this week that Kendrick has declined an offer to headline Coachella next year.
Meanwhile, Drake has released 100 gigabytes of data online, which includes three new songs. Among these, ‘It’s Up’ is the most rap-focused track and features Young Thug on a trap beat. ‘Housekeeping Knows’ takes on a dance-oriented style and includes Latto, while ‘Blue Green Red’ is a slower club track that doesn’t feature any guest artists.
