New ‘James Bond’ to Be ‘Very Young’ as Amazon Plans ‘Retro’ Reboot

With rumors indicating a younger man may play the part in a reboot with a throwback feel, ‘James Bond’ may be taking a different turn. Daniel Mays, a British actor, recently expressed rumors that Amazon, which currently owns the Bond franchise after Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli resigned their creative roles, wants to go back to the character’s beginnings.
In an interview with the ‘We’re Not Getting Any Younger’ podcast, Mays said she had heard that the next Bond may be much younger, set in the 1960s, with vintage automobiles and a new interpretation of the legendary spy’s formative years.

As of right now, the next Bond movie’s cast, plot, and release date have not been formally revealed. However, it has been revealed that producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal, who have worked on the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Spider-Man’ franchises, will take over.
Pierce Brosnan, a former Bond actor, has stated that he would rather play Dumbledore in ‘Harry Potter’ than reprise the spy series in a different capacity. Dame Helen Mirren, his co-star in ‘MobLand’, has also expressed her disapproval of the genre, saying she doesn’t like it and thinks the movies are based on archaic gender norms.
