Nick Frost Reportedly Cast as Hagrid in Upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ Series

According to reports, Nick Frost is in negotiations to play Hagrid in the new ‘Harry Potter’ television series.

 Filming for the series, which is based on J.K. Rowling's well-loved novels, is anticipated to start this year.  According to rumors, Paapa Essiedu will play Professor Snape, Janet McTeer will play Professor McGonagall, and John Lithgow has confirmed his part as Professor Dumbledore.

 Frost, who is most renowned for working with Simon Pegg on ‘The Cornetto Trilogy’, is reportedly nearing an agreement to play the half-giant and Hogwarts groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid, who was first played by the late Robbie Coltrane in the movies, according to Deadline.

The show's producer, HBO, has not verified the cast, saying that they will only reveal signed deals, even though they expect speculation for a production of this size.

 After Frost wrote a mysterious remark on Instagram that said, "What a bloody lovely day!," rumors regarding his involvement grew more intense.  It is truly occurring, it is happening.  Remain calm.  His recent social media followings of actors Lithgow and Essiedu also caught the attention of fans, which fueled conjecture.

As Gobber the Belch in the upcoming live-action version of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, where he will co-star with Gerard Butler, and as the voice of the droid SM-33 in ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’, Frost has recently been connected with important properties.

 Frost talked candidly about beating addiction in a January interview, revealing that he had to decide to live and discover happiness, something he had never known was possible.
