Nicki Minaj Reveals Baby Bump, Confirms Pregnancy

After months of mystery and teasing, Nicki Minaj has finally confirmed the news that she is, in fact, pregnant with her first child. The rapper took to Instagram to share a series of pictures revealing a full look of her baby bump, and fans went wild. 

Funnily, the Trinidadian rapper has been teasing fans for months now, causing speculation that she is expecting. Prior to the release of her ‘Trollz’ music video with 6ix9ine, she hopped on to Twitter with some rumour-fuelling (but fairly obvious) tweets. There began the “Is Nicki Pregnant?” saga. 

Late last year, Nicki Minaj announced her marriage to now husband and childhood friend, Kenneth Petty. The couple dated for close to two years before marrying, and are all set to expect their first child later this year. 

In a caption accompanying the series, Nicki writes: “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.” The final photo in the series is a picturesque and vibrant reveal of the rapper’s baby bump. Photographed by the famous, David LaChapelle, Nicki Minaj calls this one the ‘Virgin Mary’.

And so, the official announcement via Minaj’s Instagram sent fans into a Twitter frenzy. The rapper began to trend and continued to do so, with close to 450,000 tweets and counting. Fellow mother-to-be and friend, Katy Perry, even commented on her post in a wholesome exchange.

There is no news about Nicki’s due date, so we’ll just have to keep our eyes open for any updates.
