Nicolas Cage Revealed in First Look as Spider-Noir in New Live-Action Series

Guess who is in the new ‘Spider-Noir’? It’s Nicolas Cage. The next live-action series from Amazon MGM Studios will give Marvel fans their first look at Nicolas Cage as ‘Spider-Noir’, and there's a special twist on how viewers may watch it.  Inspired by the grim Spider-Man Noir comics and the version Nicolas Cage voiced in the Spider-Verse movies, the series will be available in colour and black and white on MGM+ and Prime Video.

The first image of the show, which was unveiled at Amazon's 2025 upfront presentation, depicts Nicolas Cage completely changed into the superhero of the 1930s, a sullen private investigator with a dark past.  The show will follow this exhausted detective in New York City as he must face his past as the only masked vigilante in the city.

Brendan Gleeson (‘Joker: Folie à Deux’), Jack Huston (‘Fargo’), and Lamorne Morris (‘New Girl’) are among the cast members.  The eight-episode series will debut on MGM+ in 2026 and be available for streaming worldwide on Prime Video the day after each episode.

Nicolas Cage has always loved comic books and is familiar with superheroes.  He has voiced Superman in ‘Teen Titans Go! To the Movies’, portrayed Ghost Rider, and portrayed Big Daddy in ‘Kick-Ass’.  He even landed the role of Superman in Tim Burton's shelved 1990s movie, which he eventually played in ‘The Flash’ (2023).

In less serious news, Nicolas Cage recently made a joke about how he is frequently confused for singer Nick Cave, a mistake that Cave humorously admitted with a story of his own.

‘Spider-Noir’ is positioned to be one of the most talked-about series of 2026 because of its noir aesthetic, dark take on the Spider-Man tradition, and prominent role for Nicolas Cage.
