Nicole Kidman is taking a bold leap in the first trailer for ‘Babygirl’, an upcoming erotic thriller that showcases her commitment to daring roles. A24 unveiled the teaser, which highlights Kidman’s portrayal of a high-powered CEO whose life unravels when she embarks on a passionate affair with her much younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson.
The film is directed by Halina Reijn, known for her work on ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’, and premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, generating buzz for its provocative themes.

Kidman has expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with female directors who are making significant strides in the industry. “I just love being a part of their world and their vision and being able to go, I’m here, I’ll support you,” she shared, noting the importance of empowering women in filmmaking. She cites directors like Lulu Wang, Mimi Cave, and Karyn Kusama as inspirations, highlighting a growing movement of women in prominent creative roles.
In ‘Babygirl’, Kidman’s character navigates the complexities of her career and family life while engaging in a risky liaison. The film also features notable actors such as Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas, who plays Kidman’s husband.
At a recent press conference, Kidman emphasised that she never felt exploited during the filming of intimate scenes, attributing this sense of safety to Reijn’s direction.
“That’s what made it so compelling, was being in the hands of Halina, because I knew she wasn’t gonna exploit me,” Kidman stated, affirming her dedication to the narrative. She further acknowledged the supportive environment created by the cast and crew, noting that they were “very gentle with each other and helped each other” throughout the production process.
