Olivia Rodrigo Will Release Bonus “Secret” ‘Guts’ Tracks

Olivia Rodrigo dropped some major news for her fans, which sent them into a frenzy. The 20-year-old singer-songwriter took to social media to announce that her upcoming special vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event will include not one, not two, but four “secret tracks” that won’t be available on streaming platforms. Here’s everything you need to know.

Previously, Olivia released four different versions of her ‘Guts’ LP, each of which contained one exclusive “secret” track. Now, for the first time, the Black Friday variant of the vinyl will bring together all four of these bonus tracks onto a single record. This means that fans can finally get their hands on all the hidden gems that Olivia has kept under wraps.

For ‘Guts: The Secret Tracks,’ Olivia Rodrigo has teamed up with Jack White’s Third Man Records to press these four special songs. The tracks are titled ‘Obsessed,’ ‘Scared of My Guitar,’ ‘Stranger’ and ‘Girl I’ve Always Been.’

Olivia’s sophomore album, ‘Guts,’ has already garnered critical acclaim, earning five-star reviews from critics. The album signifies Olivia’s journey from her teenage years to adulthood, which she recently mentioned in a statement. She explained how she felt like she grew “10 years” between the ages of 18 and 20.

‘Guts’ shows the singer’s ability to offer introspective self-analysis while addressing broader cultural concepts of performance and the suppression of emotions to meet others’ expectations. It’s an album that embodies Olivia’s incredible power, range and versatility as an artist.

In an intimate performance and conversation in Los Angeles, Olivia Rodrigo admitted to shedding tears during the making of her new album. It was a challenging 10-month process for both her and producer/co-writer, Dan Nigro. They revealed that the tears were not just about the emotions in the lyrics but also a result of the frustration they faced during the creative process.

“We cried just because we were frustrated. We were really toiling,” Olivia explained.

Olivia and Dan Nigro collaborated for ‘An Evening With Olivia Rodrigo,’ an American Express-sponsored event at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. This exclusive performance and conversation was a treat for the lucky fans in attendance, who had the opportunity to witness the magic of this creative collaboration.

The event was filmed and will be available on Olivia’s YouTube page, so you can watch the interview and experience the insights and stories behind ‘Guts.’ It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album, from writing and recording to the fine-tuning process.

As for the future, fans can only guess what’s in store for her next album, but one thing is for sure, the process may involve a few more tears, lots of creativity, and a touch of humour, as suggested by the playful banter between Olivia and Dan about potential album titles.

In the end, Olivia expressed that ‘Guts’ is not just an album; it’s a labour of love, creativity and at times frustration. But it’s these emotions and dedication of Olivia Rodrigo and her team that have resulted in a musical masterpiece that will continue to top the charts in the coming months.
