‘Paddington in Peru’ Scores CinemaScore Hat-Trick, Continuing the Success of the Acclaimed Franchise

This week marked the home debut of ‘Paddington in Peru’, following a successful run in overseas markets. Despite a month-long delay in release, the movie has already made over $100 million at the box office and is expected to provide a nice diversion for fans who are swarming to watch ‘Captain America: Brave New World’. Although the superhero film is predicted to do better at the box office than Paddington in Peru, the children’s film has received more positive reviews and reviews from viewers.

In addition to having a higher Rotten Tomatoes rating, ‘Paddington in Peru’ also garnered an amazing A grade on CinemaScore, a website that asks viewers if they would suggest a movie to others. This score is in line with the first two Paddington movies, which both received great reviews from reviewers and did well at the box office.

‘Captain America: Brave New World’, on the other hand, received a dismal B- on CinemaScore. Over the long Presidents’ Day weekend, the most recent ‘Captain America’ film is anticipated to bring in almost $90 million, while ‘Paddington in Peru’ is likely to bring in more than $15 million. The 2015 release of the original ‘Paddington’ movie brought in nearly $260 million worldwide, and the 2018 release brought in about $240 million. Paul King directed both, but he resigned for this third film, and Dougal Wilson took over as director.

With a production budget of about $90 million, ‘Paddington in Peru’ now has a 94% acceptance rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is just lower than the 96% and 99% ratings for the first and second films, respectively. In addition to Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Julie Walters, and Olivia Colman, Ben Whishaw plays the voice of Paddington Bear in the movie.
