Paris Jackson Pays Homage To Nirvana With Her New Single ‘Lighthouse’

Paris Jackson has released a new song called ‘Lighthouse,’ which is influenced by ’90s rock.’

Inspired by Nirvana’s legendary music video for ‘Sliver,’ Jackson’s rendition of the video pays homage to the grunge band, including a photo of Kurt Cobain at one point. You can see the video for the song below.

‘Lighthouse’ is the follow-up to Jackson’s February EP, ‘The Lost.’ ‘Lost,’ a collaboration with Caamp, was included on the three-track project, as were solo tracks ‘Breathe Again’ and ‘Never Going Back Again.’ She released duets with Manchester Orchestra as well as a single with The Struts called “Low Key In Love” last year.

Back in January, Jackson said she would be open to collaborating with her aunt Janet Jackson. She said that they haven’t spoken about it, but she loves collaborating with all kinds of artists. She also said that the genre doesn’t really matter to her and doesn’t see herself doing trap music anytime in the near future but she is open to everything.

She mentioned that, she continued to write about the same old heartbreak that ‘Wilted’ (her debut album in 2020) is about. She gave this statement connecting the dot of her debut album to her latest track. Paris said that a lot of songs coming out are similar stories about the same person and heartbreak. She lastly said that she is exploring a lot of feelings out of which ‘Wilted’ was a more melancholy record, and now she’s exploring more of the anger.

Her debut solo album, ‘Wilted,’ was released in 2020, and was described as ‘a collection of 11 intimate songs that’ll fit like your favourite sweater.’
