‘Peaky Blinders’ Creator Shares Exciting Update on Film: ‘No One Will Be Disappointed’

Steven Knight, the creator of ‘Peaky Blinders’, has provided an update on the much-awaited movie adaptation of the series.
Knight announced that filming for his upcoming Disney+ series ‘A Thousand Blows’ ended in December 2024 while promoting it on BBC Breakfast. Considering the project’s current state, he called it an amazing production that features some of the best actors in Britain. He reassured viewers that the movie would be a proper end to this chapter of the story, demonstrating his confidence in its excellence.
The film is based on the BBC series, which concluded in 2022 after six seasons. Cillian Murphy will play Tommy Shelby again in the film, which was written by Knight and directed by Tom Harper, the director of ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 1. Stephen Graham and Sophie Rundle will also be returning.

The ‘Peaky Blinders’ universe will welcome a number of fresh actors in addition to well-known ones. Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Rebecca Ferguson, who starred in Dune and Silo, will join Barry Keoghan, who is best known for ‘Saltburn’ and ‘Bird’. The movie takes place during World War II, while specifics regarding their responsibilities are still unknown.
Knight has made it clear that fans will continue to experience the ‘Peaky Blinders’ universe after this. He hinted that a second series centred on a different generation of characters would be in the works in late 2024. He hinted that the ‘Peaky Blinders’ universe will continue after the film’s conclusion, although no formal announcements have been made as of yet.
Although a specific date has not been set, the ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie is expected to be released in 2025.
