P!nk Comments on Poor Leadership in the US

With countless artists protesting against the injustice surrounding George Floyd’s passing, P!nk has finally weighed in with her thoughts on the current situation. 
The star has never shied away from discussing heavier issues like sexism, politics and environmental concerns. Time after time, she’s also shown her support for minority communities, often fighting for LGBTQ and transgender rights. So, it’s understandable that she had a lot to say about this issue, plaguing the United States. 

In a 30-second clip posted recently, the singer stared directly into the camera to offer her sobering assessment of the current situation and pointed out that the country has fallen simply because of poor leadership. “How can anyone call themself a patriot or an American if you re-elect a president that doesn’t govern, respect or represent half of our country?” she asked.

P!nk vs. The Trollers

It’s a bold statement, for sure, but then again like we’ve mentioned before, the singer’s never tried too hard to play it safe. Her opinions have always been well researched, well thought out and heartfelt. 

But sadly, with the toxic nature of social media, trolling people the minute they speak up has now become the norm. So, when P!nk put out this scathing statement, it wasn’t long before the trollers got to her. And yet, she stood her ground, and fired back.  When one troller commented,  “act your age granny!” to the 40-year-old mother of two, she said it was another perfect example of a “trump supporter… telling a woman how old she is. I’m 40. And no, you cannot grab me by my p—y.”

Much like P!nk has, a number of other musicians have taken to social media to put out their opinions, not bothering to sugarcoat how they feel about the current scenario. For now, let’s just hope that everyone can stay as strong as P!nk when the trolling takes off once more.
