Pregnant Margot Robbie Prepares for Baby’s Arrival While Enjoying Downtime in Los Angeles

Margot Robbie is preparing to embrace motherhood!

The 34-year-old ‘Barbie’ star is currently in Los Angeles, focusing on getting ready for her baby’s arrival, according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE. In July, it was confirmed by multiple sources that Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, are expecting their first child.

“Margot is absolutely thrilled,” the insider shared with PEOPLE, adding that both Robbie and Ackerley have been eager to become parents for a long time and are overjoyed.

“She looks fantastic,” the source noted. “Typically, she’s one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood, but right now, she seems to be enjoying some time off from filming.”

While making visits to the hospital in L.A., the Oscar nominee has been “working a bit,” the source continued, emphasizing that she enjoys keeping herself occupied. Robbie has several projects in the pipeline, including ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’ with Colin Farrell and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Alongside co-founding their production company, LuckyChap, with Ackerley, the couple recently launched their own gin brand, Papa Salt, highlighting their entrepreneurial ventures.

A source from the set of ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’ mentioned in July that “no one” suspected Robbie was pregnant while she was filming. “She was extremely professional and focused during the shoot,” the source remarked, adding, “Despite the long days, it didn’t seem to faze her.”

Robbie and Ackerley began dating in 2014 after meeting on the set of ‘Suite Française’ in 2013, where he worked as an assistant director. They married in a private ceremony on Australia’s Gold Coast in December 2016 and have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye.

The ‘Suicide Squad’ star first revealed her baby bump in September at an L.A. screening of the LuckyChap-produced film ‘My Old Ass’, where she was joined by director Megan Park, actress Maisy Stella, and fellow producers Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Bronte Payne.

Regarding their journey to parenthood, a source told PEOPLE in July that Robbie and Ackerley “have wanted to start a family for a long time. Family is very important to both of them, and they recognized early in their relationship that being parents was a priority.”
