Ubisoft has confirmed that the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is now scheduled to launch by March 31, 2026, according to its latest financial report. This update finally provides a narrower release window, suggesting the project is back on track after years of uncertainty.
Originally revealed in 2020 with a planned release date of January 21, 2021, the remake has faced several setbacks, including multiple delays and a change in development studios. After initial work by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, the project was handed over to Ubisoft Montreal, the team behind the original 2003 classic. The remake was restarted from the ground up under their direction. In mid-2024, Ubisoft Toronto also joined the development process, bringing additional support to help push the game toward completion.
Ubisoft's latest earnings report for fiscal year 2024-2025 confirms that the remake is set to launch sometime between January and March 2026, narrowing the previously broad 2026 window. Other titles expected before the end of the fiscal year include The Division Resurgence, Rainbow Six Mobile, and Anno 117: Pax Romana, with even more game announcements planned for the same timeframe.

A Resurgence for the Prince of Persia Franchise
The franchise has seen a recent revival, with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launching in January 2024, and The Rogue Prince of Persia entering early access in May 2024. These releases mark a renewed focus by Ubisoft on one of its most iconic series, which hadn’t seen a major new title since 2010's The Forgotten Sands.
