Quavo Inspired by Takeoff For Upcoming Album, ‘Rocket Power’, Says: “This is my Therapy”

Quavo, a member of the Migos, is on the same route as Offset, who is presently working on his upcoming solo album after revealing his new project, Rocket Power, on Instagram.

When introducing his sophomore album and how he’s dedicating it to his deceased nephew and former rhyme-partner, Takeoff, Quavo wrote a powerful message. “This album is for the Rocket, our true fans, and also this is my therapy. This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now,” he wrote on Instagram.

While grieving Takeoff’s passing, Quavo is also battling his inner struggles, as Offset recently revealed in an interview. Quavo wrote: “Sometimes I’m good, sometimes I’m down, sometimes I’m disappointed, sometimes I fall apart, but then I always find my strength again. I know everything might not be alright right now, but the Rocket showed me a way to make it right! ‘Rocket Power’ keeps me going. ‘Rocket Power’ gives me fuel. ‘Rocket Power’ will help us all overcome whatever we’re going through.”

Quavo has produced a slew of hits so far this year, including ‘Honey Bun,’ ‘Greatness,’ and the song dedicated to Takeoff, ‘Without You.’ Quavo and Maverick City Music presented the moving tribute at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

After ‘Quavo Huncho’ in 2018, Rocket Power will be Quavo’s debut album in 2019. Drake, 21 Savage, Cardi B, Lil Baby, Madonna and more artists contributed to the debut album. ‘Quavo Huncho’ earned 99,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The album received gold status from the RIAA the next year.
