Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is You” has just been awarded three brand new world records – Highest Charting Holiday (Christmas/ New Year) Song on the US Hot 100 by a solo artist, Most Streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours(female), and Most weeks on the UK singles top 10 chart for Christmas songs.
The singer was awarded by the Guinness World Records at the Colosseum in Las Vegas during her recent Christmas show. To share her gratitude the singer took to Instagram saying – “Thank you so much Guinness World records for honouring me with three records in the 2020 book!Michael from @guinnessworldrecords presented me with a certificate on stage, so naturally, I asked him to join us for the #AllIWantforChristmasIsYou finale!”.
The pop superstar was joined by her kids on stage when she was awarded the records title certificate and the 2020 edition of the Guinness World Records Book.
The iconic holiday song written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff as a lead single from her first holiday album “Merry Christmas” released in the year 1994.
The track has been re-recorded by several artists including Justin Bieber, for his album ‘Under the Mistletoe’.
With three world records titles all at the same time, selling over 16 million copies worldwide, it is apparent that no one can beat the “Queen of Christmas”.
