‘Reacher’ Star Alan Ritchson Gears Up for Another Exciting Action Movie

According to Deadline, Alan Ritchson is apparently poised to star in a new film called ‘Runner’, marking his return to the action genre. The ‘Reacher’ star will play a wealthy courier who has a pressing assignment: bringing an organ to a little girl who is in dire need of a transplant. Naturally, when the head of a well-known criminal organization steps in, intent on obtaining the organ for himself, things go wrong.

Scott Waugh, the director of ‘Need for Speed’ and ‘Expendables 4’, is expected to deliver another heart-pounding thriller in ‘Runner’. Alongside Todd Garner, Dan Spilo, Mark Fasano, and Jeffrey Greenstein, Ritchson will also be a producer."With an actor like Alan Ritchson, Runner reminds me of Tony Scott action films from the '90s, where character and story were key and the action was spectacular," Waugh said in a statement about the movie, expressing his excitement. Bringing this fantastic script to life makes Waugh very happy.

Since his breakthrough performance in ‘Reacher’, one of the most popular original shows, Ritchson has been on a high. He just finished filming the third season, which will debut in early 2025. The fourth season has already been approved.

In Australia, Ritchson is now working with Dennis Quaid, Jai Courtney, Stephan James, and Esai Morales on the sci-fi action thriller ‘War Machine’, which is being directed by Patrick Hughes. Additionally, he finished work on the visually stunning revenge movie ‘Motor City’, which co-stars Ben Foster and Ben McKenzie.

Ritchson costarred with Kevin James in the ‘Midnight Run’ influenced action-comedy ‘Playdate’ earlier this year. James, who portrays a stay-at-home father in the movie, makes friends with Ritchson's character, Jeff, only to find out that he's involved in a crazy plot. Sarah Chalke,   Sabrina Elba, Stephen Root, Alan Tudyk, Isla Fisher, and Hiro Kanagawa are among the cast members.
