Remembering Stan Lee

It’s hard to fathom that it’s been a year already since we have lost Stan Lee, the man behind the contemporary Marvel comic book and the co-creator of the greatest superheroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and the X-Men. One fan tweeted: “Like fans all over the world hold so many warm memories of Stan The Man”. The Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr. honoured late Marvel legend while accepting the Male Movie Star trophy at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. His passing at the age of 95 was heartbreaking and to honour Lee on the first anniversary of his death, Marvel posted a beautiful tribute to the man behind so many stories.

Here are some of the most iconic characters he created:
Spider Man: Stan Lee created this fictional superhero with Steve Ditko. Spider Man first appeared in the anthology comic book “Amazing Fantasy” (1962) in the Silver Age of Comic books published by Marvel Comics.
X-Men: He co created X-Men with Jack Kirby and the characters first appeared in the X-Men (September 1963) and formed one of the most recognizable and successful franchise of Marvel Comics Book.
Iron Man: He co-created this character as well with scripter Larry Lieber, artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. The character made his first appearance in “Tales of Suspense” and received its own title in “Iron Man” in the year 1968.
Hulk: Stan Lee and Jack Kirby co-created Hulk and the character first appeared in “The Incredible Hulk”. The character was written by Stan Lee, pencilled and co-plotted by Jack Kirby and inked by Paul Reinman.
It is a huge loss for Marvel yet one of his works Avengers : Endgame grossed over 2 billion last year. His words, “You know one person can make a difference” and the world has witnessed it.
