Rihanna Speaks Out After A$AP Rocky's Acquittal

After A$AP Rocky was found not guilty in his felony assault trial, Rihanna expressed her sincere gratitude. The singer expressed her emotions on social media shortly after the jury’s ruling was announced, claiming that divine intervention was responsible for the outcome. She acknowledged what she called God’s mercy and highlighted her gratitude and humility.

Rocky, whose true name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was charged with shooting A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli with a semi-automatic weapon during a fight in November 2021. He might have been sentenced to 24 years in jail if found guilty.

After years of acquaintance, Rihanna and Rocky made their relationship official in November 2020. Riot, 18 months, and RZA, 2½, are their two young children.

Rocky thanked the jury for what he believed to be a fair verdict after the verdict was announced at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles. Before speaking to the court, overcome with emotion, he gave Rihanna and his family a hug and expressed gratitude for his freedom while also considering the arduous four-year legal battle.

After leaving the courthouse, Rocky wrote a brief but direct statement on X, warning people not to make the same mistakes he had.

Prosecutors criticized Rihanna for having previously brought their kids to his civil trial procedures. Rocky shouldn’t be given preferential treatment because of his family’s presence in court or his celebrity position, the district attorney stressed. Later, a judge decided that any reference to Rihanna or the couple’s kids should not be allowed in court proceedings.

Rocky’s lawyer had repeatedly refuted the accusations, claiming that the gun was only a prop. The case, according to the defence, was driven more by money than by a sincere desire for justice. Rocky decided to defend the allegations in court, turning down a plea bargain in favour of a jury trial and winning a not-guilty judgment.
