The release of Rihanna's brand-new single, ‘Lift Me Up’ has been officially announced. The singer shared a 14-second teaser on her social media platforms that displayed a capital ‘R’ between her name and the song's title, stylized in the same font as the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ trailers and promotional artwork.
There is also a tiny preview of the song, which was composed as a tribute to late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020. The song's main components are hummed vocals and a string accompaniment. The video concludes with the date ‘10.28.22,’ indicating that it will be released in two days.
Rihanna, Tems, Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson and Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler all contributed to the writing of the song ‘Lift Me Up’. The song was produced by Göransson and was recorded in five different nations.
“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” Tems explained. “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”
On 11th November, the original score for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, composed and produced by Göransson, will be accessible.

Rihanna had composed two songs for the soundtrack of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. One of these is said to be the film’s end credits track; the first Black Panther movie, which was released in 2018 and closed out with the Kendrick Lamar and SZA joint ‘All The Stars’.
The first movie's soundtrack, which also featured artists like Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd and Travis Scott, was executive produced by Lamar. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's initial teaser featured Kendrick Lamar's song ‘Alright’ and a prologue EP with music by Tems, Amaarae and Santa Fe Klan was released in July. Last year Doja Cat and Stormzy were reportedly in talks to appear on the soundtrack album for the sequel.
The tracks from Black Panther by Rihanna will be her first solo compositions in over seven years. The singer was last heard on her 2016 album 'Anti', with the exception of a guest appearance on PartyNextDoor's 2020 single 'Believe It'. However, throughout the previous six years, she has continually hinted at new music, and in February of next year, she will return to the stage to perform as the headlining act for the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show.
On 11th November, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is scheduled to release in theatres across the UK.
