Rita Ora reflected on her time with Liam Payne during an emotional performance in Osaka, Japan. Shortly after Payne's tragic passing, the British pop star struggled to hold back tears while singing their 2018 duet ‘For You’, from ‘Fifty Shades Freed’.

In footage shared by fans, Ora displayed a photo of herself with Payne on the screen behind her as she performed the song solo. At one point, overcome with emotion, she told the audience, "I can’t even sing this right now. Can you sing this for me?" She continued, expressing her deep affection for Payne, saying, "I loved working with him so much—he was just such a joy to be around on and off stage. This tragic news breaks my heart."

Ora paid further tribute, sharing her condolences with Payne's loved ones. She also noted how their hit song now carried a new emotional weight, adding, "Our song For You takes on a whole new meaning for me now. R.I.P." The duet had been a significant success, charting at No. 8 in the UK and making an impact internationally as well.

Payne’s death was confirmed after a tragic fall at a hotel in Buenos Aires. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and an autopsy is set to take place. The news has sent shockwaves through fans and fellow artists alike.
