Robert Pattinson Finds It ‘Strange’ to Have Male Fans After His ‘Twilight’ Era

Robert Pattinson is still getting used to the fact that his following base is becoming more male.

The 38-year-old actor was taken aback by the large proportion of male admirers in the audience when he attended the international premiere of ‘Mickey 17’ in London. Upon reflection, he acknowledged that this was a novel experience for him.

Pattinson first became well-known for her role as Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ series, which has a fervent and largely female fan base. He has shifted into more varied parts since the release of the last instalment, ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’, in 2012, appearing in movies such as ‘Tenet’, ‘The Batman’, ‘Good Time’, and ‘The Lighthouse’.

In 2027, he will return to his role as Bruce Wayne in the ‘Batman’ sequel. He will also reunite with filmmaker Christopher Nolan in ‘The Odyssey’.

In addition to his professional life, Pattinson and his fiancée, Suki Waterhouse, welcomed a daughter in March 2024. Waterhouse announced the news while performing at Coachella the following month, although the pair has not yet disclosed the name of their child.

Pattinson was also questioned about whether he would be interested in creating movies that his daughter would like at the ‘Mickey 17’ premiere. She seemed more interested in just staring at walls for the time being, he joked, but he was excited about the notion. But he also mentioned how much he would want to voice a character in an animated movie someday.

Pattinson plays the lead in Bong Joon Ho’s film ‘Mickey 17’, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie. The science fiction thriller centres on Mickey Barnes, a man who, each time he dies, is regenerated using human-printing technology, enabling him to carry on with his dangerous job.

On 7th March, the movie opens in theatres.
