Robert Pattinson's next big endeavour is ‘Primetime’, a compelling drama about the shadowy side of television journalism. The film, which was produced by A24 and directed by Lance Oppenheim, will examine the shady side of crime reporting and how one reporter's probe changes television. In addition to producing the movie, Pattinson might play the lead, according to Deadline.
‘Primetime’ is influenced by programs such as Dateline's ‘To Catch a Predator’, in which anchor Chris Hansen confronted men who were caught on video pursuing youngsters for s*x. Due to its exploitative methods and apparent promotion of vigilante justice, the contentious program, which concluded in 2007, came under fire. Even while A24 hasn't acknowledged any direct affiliation with the show, the movie seems to be exploring similar topics of sensationalist media and its ethical problems.

As a documentarian, this will be Oppenheim's first attempt at creating a narrative film. He is well-known for his documentaries ‘Spermworld and Some Kind of Heaven’, as well as the highly acclaimed HBO series ‘Ren Faire’.
Pattinson continues to work on several projects. ‘Mickey 23’, a science fiction black comedy directed by Bong Joon-Ho, will be released in theatres in January. Most recently, he voiced a role in ‘The Boy’ and the ‘Heron’ by Hayao Miyazaki. He will also appear alongside Jennifer Lawrence in ‘Die, My Love’, a dark comedy directed by Lynne Ramsey. Furthermore, Pattinson will reprise her role as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming ‘Batman’ sequel, which is anticipated to begin production the following year. In addition, he will star in a reimagining of the 1980 thriller ‘Possession’.
‘Primetime’ is presently under development; no release date has been set as of yet.
