Robert Pattinson’s ‘Mickey 17’ Gets New Earlier Release Date

The 2022 novel ‘Mickey7’ by Edward Ashton is adapted into the upcoming movie ‘Mickey 17’, which is helmed by Bong Joon-ho. With this eagerly awaited film, Bong, who is best known for his work on ‘Parasite’, which took home the 2020 Oscar for Best Picture, as well as ‘Okja’, ‘Snowpiercer’, and ‘The Host’, returns to direct.

The release date for ‘Mickey 17’ in the United States has been determined by Warner Bros., following multiple revisions over the past year. The film will officially be released in theatres on 7th March 2025. With this revised release date, the movie will be available more than a month ahead of schedule. The film’s release dates were switched with those of Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler, which is currently set for 18th April 2025.

‘Mickey 17’ was originally scheduled for release in March 2024, but filming ended in 2022. However, delays brought on by the 2023 strikes by actors and writers delayed the release until April 2025, when it was finally rescheduled.

This movie is Bong’s first directing endeavour since ‘Parasite’, which received significant critical acclaim and became the highest-grossing Korean film in history. Rhian Daly of NME was among the critics who commended ‘Parasite’ for its complex narrative. In a stellar five-star review, Daly emphasized how the movie depicts class conflicts without taking sides, exposing the shortcomings and parasitic tendencies of the Kim and Park families. High hopes are raised for Bong’s most recent project, ‘Mickey 17’, because of his brilliant examination of social dynamics.
