Rosé Embraces Gilmore Girls Aesthetic in Music Video for ‘Toxic Till the End’

BLACKPINK's Rosé has finally released her long-anticipated solo debut album rosie, along with a Gilmore Girls-inspired music video for its lead single, ‘Toxic Till the End.’ The Australian-Korean singer dropped the album on December 6, followed by the release of the visual for the track shortly after.

The music video, which stars Rosé alongside Gossip Girl actor Evan Mock, adopts a cinematic, Gilmore Girls-influenced approach to telling a love story with a bitter ending. Despite both characters being fully aware of the toxicity from the start, they continue to navigate the tumultuous relationship.

In an interview before the album's release, Rosé explained that the song was inspired by a past relationship. She shared that the experience had lingered with her for several years, though she felt she didn’t deserve it. Reflecting on the situation, Rosé expressed surprise at how far she had come, noting that she had reached a point where she no longer felt the need to talk about it.

Rosé's new solo album rosie features a total of 12 tracks, all co-written and co-produced by the singer herself, including the lead single ‘Toxic Till the End.’ The album also includes her previous viral hit ‘APT.’ featuring Bruno Mars.

‘Apt.’ has become the sixth most-streamed song by a K-pop artist on Spotify, according to the platform's 2024 Wrapped report. Other notable entries on Spotify's Top 10 list of K-pop songs and acts include Rosé’s group BLACKPINK, as well as her bandmates Lisa and Jennie.
