Rosé of BLACKPINK Revealed on ‘Hot Ones’ That Her Best Tracks Were Penned Down During Hard Times

BLACKPINK’s Rosé has revealed her songwriting process in a candid conversation during her recent appearance on Hot Ones. In the latest episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, the Korean-Australian singer discussed her forthcoming album rosie, her creative journey, and the strengths of BLACKPINK. She shared that some of her most impactful songs have emerged from challenging periods in her life.

When asked about her ideal creative environment, Rosé explained that she tends to write her best music when she’s going through tough times. She said that although it’s hard to admit, when she feels like “life has been pretty bad lately,” those are often the moments when her songwriting sessions yield the best results. She laughed as she continued, saying that once she leaves behind her struggles, she often walks away with a great song.

Rosé described her upcoming album as a reflection of the past three to four years of her life, filled with raw, honest emotions that she’s never shared before. She emphasized that the album features some of her most heart-wrenching and vulnerable stories. She said that this process of transforming difficult experiences into something beautiful is what she loves most about creating music.

Rosé also discussed one of BLACKPINK’s key strengths, which she believes is their incredible work ethic. She mentioned that each member of the group has ambitious goals and puts in relentless effort every day. She remarked that she’s never encountered anyone in the group who simply wants to rest. Even if they’ve said it at times, she believes it’s never meant seriously.

Rosé’s highly anticipated debut solo album, rosie, is set for release on December 6. Prior to the album’s launch, she released the single ‘APT.’ in collaboration with fellow Atlantic Records artist Bruno Mars last month. The track has already achieved significant success, marking Rosé’s highest entry on the Billboard 100 to date.
