Rosé Performs Stunning Mash-Up of ‘APT.’ and ‘Toxic Till The End’ on ‘Fallon’

Rosé made her solo debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, performing a mash-up of her tracks ‘APT.’ and ‘Toxic Till The End.’ The BLACKPINK member, who released her debut album Rosie on December 6, showcased the tracks live for the first time on December 11, backed by a six-piece band.

She began the performance in a playful manner, singing ‘APT.’ while seated at Fallon’s desk with her feet propped up, before transitioning into ‘Toxic Till The End,’ complete with confetti falling around her.

During the interview, Rosé reflected on her first audition for BLACKPINK, recalling how she thought it was a joke at the time. She explained that after flying from Melbourne to Sydney for the audition with her father, she wasn’t expecting much and just wanted to make memories. However, after the audition, she was surprised to receive a callback and couldn’t believe it.

This performance marked Rosé’s first live, in-person solo appearance on the show, though she had previously performed on The Tonight Show with her BLACKPINK members in June 2020 and in a pre-recorded segment in March 2021 for her solo single ‘On The Ground.’

‘APT.’, a collaboration with Bruno Mars, had been a huge success, spending six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, reaching No. 1 in South Korea, No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Rosie also made a strong debut, hitting No. 2 in South Korea in its first week.

Rosé, known for her strong persona as a member of BLACKPINK, presents a more vulnerable side in Rosie, offering listeners a rare and intimate look at her true self. The album was described as a powerful declaration of self, signalling a new, more authentic chapter in Rosé’s career.
