Ryan Seacrest made his debut as the new host of Wheel of Fortune, taking over from Pat Sajak after his retirement. Opening the show, Seacrest expressed his excitement, saying, "Welcome to Wheel of Fortune”. 

I am your host, Ryan Seacrest. I still can't believe my luck being here with you tonight to continue this legacy, and of course, my good friend, Vanna White." He warmly thanked the audience for their support and shared that hosting the show is a "dream job."

Seacrest revealed his long-time connection to the game show, reminiscing about watching it as a child with his family. "I've been a fan of this show since I was a kid," he said. "Wheel has been in your living rooms for the past 40 years, and I'm just so grateful to be invited in. I know I’ve got big shoes to fill, so let’s play “Wheel of Fortune!"

The night’s highlight came when contestant Terry won $25,849 in cash and prizes. Seacrest thanked Terry for being part of his first episode, saying it was "a pleasure to hang out" during the historic taping.

Ahead of his debut, Seacrest shared how he meticulously prepared for his new role, even travelling with a homemade version of the iconic wheel. "Since I got the job, I’ve studied the rule book and watched Pat's episodes," he explained, adding that he rehearsed wherever his work schedule took him.

Seacrest also expressed excitement about working alongside Vanna White. "I can't imagine Wheel of Fortune without Vanna White," he said, acknowledging her iconic status on the show. Seacrest and White have been enjoying what he calls a "magical time together."
