Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan’s ‘On and Off’ Romance: Inside Their Relationship

Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan are keeping things casual. Despite rumours of a breakup, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that their relationship is “on and off.” 

Keoghan seemed to address the speculation by liking a flirty Instagram post from Carpenter, where she posed in baby blue lingerie. PEOPLE reached out to representatives for both Carpenter and Keoghan for comment.

In a June interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter hinted that their relationship is undefined. When asked if she considers Keoghan her boyfriend, she responded, “How do I skirt around this question?” She added, “When you meet people that feel authentic and are brilliant in every way, that’s what you do.”

The pair first sparked romance rumours after a dinner date in Los Angeles in December 2023, following their reported meeting during Paris Fashion Week two months earlier. They made their first public appearance as a couple at a Grammy Awards afterparty in February, where they were seen together inside the event, though they posed separately on the red carpet. A few days later, they confirmed their relationship when they were spotted sharing a kiss after leaving Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

While they prefer to keep their relationship private, Keoghan starred as Carpenter’s love interest in her “Please Please Please” music video, which premiered in June. Carpenter praised his performance, calling him “one of the best actors of this generation.”
