Sabrina Carpenter And Jenna Ortega Share a Kiss And Dark Twists in New ‘Taste’ Music Video

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has released not only her new album ‘Short n’ Sweet’ but also a visually striking music video for her latest single ‘Taste’, featuring actress Jenna Ortega as her co-star. The Dave Meyers-directed video sees Carpenter and Ortega locked in a darkly humorous and twisted game, where they murder each other repeatedly and share a kiss.

The video begins with Carpenter, the ‘Nonsense’ singer, approaching a pink bed filled with various instruments of murder. She picks up a knife, using it as a mirror to apply lipstick before racing into a mansion where she believes Ortega’s character is in bed with her man. However, the scene is a trap—Ortega emerges with a shotgun, sending Carpenter over a balcony. The two continue their deadly game in different settings, including a hospital, with voodoo dolls, and in a shower.

In a dramatic twist, Ortega appears to kiss her “beloved boyfriend,” only to discover he has transformed into Carpenter, whom she then attacks with a chainsaw—only to realise too late that she has actually killed her beau.

The video ends with the pair attending his funeral in black funeral attire, leaving together while giggling and holding smoothies.

Carpenter has also released the music video for her Jack Antonoff-produced single ‘Please Please Please’, featuring her boyfriend, actor Barry Keoghan. The video, which kicks off with Carpenter being released from jail—a nod to her previous “Espresso” music video—sees Keoghan playing a significant role. Carpenter playfully references his profession in the lyrics, singing, “I heard that you’re an actor, so act like a stand-up guy.”

As the video unfolds, Carpenter locks eyes with Keoghan’s character, a fellow inmate, and their romance quickly heats up. Throughout the visual, Carpenter pays tribute to iconic movie criminals like Bonnie and Clyde, though Keoghan’s character soon returns to his criminal ways, leaving Carpenter to plead with him to change.
