Sabrina Carpenter Reflects on Journey to Best New Artist Grammy Nomination

Despite being nominated for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Sabrina Carpenter is not a newcomer to the music industry.

Before Carpenter’s blockbuster single ‘Espresso’ dominated the charts in April and catapulted her to new heights of stardom, she had already published five albums at the age of 25. When her sixth album, ‘Short n’ Sweet’, was released in August, her popularity only grew.

Although some would wonder why someone with a ten-year career would receive a Best New Artist nomination, Carpenter welcomes the honour and values the path that led him to this point. Looking back on her career, she told PEOPLE that she has always remained loyal to herself and had faith in her work since she was a young girl. She underlined the significance of the tiny, deliberate measures that had led her to this moment.

Carpenter is nominated for multiple Grammy awards, including Record of the Year,  Album of the Year,  Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance, in addition to Best New Artist. She said she was grateful for the distinction and that it was a dream she had since she was a young child.

Carpenter recently wrapped up her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour’s North American leg, which included a special “Sweet Spot” pop-up event presented by T-Mobile that gave away tickets to fans. She valued how these partnerships felt true to her album and tour, giving audiences a more engaging and approachable experience at her shows.

Connecting with her fans every night was the tour’s most memorable element, Carpenter disclosed. She liked their imaginative attire and humorous crowd signs. She will return to Europe in March after the September–November tour, which included her maiden arena performances.

Carpenter expressed enthusiasm about returning to cities she hasn’t been in years and is looking forward to seeing which crowd will be the biggest during the European leg.

Carpenter is still assimilating the chaos of the previous year as 2025 gets underway. Although she acknowledged that she hasn’t given anything much thought yet, she is committed to being in the moment. She is most excited that her music has struck a chord with so many people, which confirms her passion for songwriting and its capacity to engage listeners from many backgrounds.
