The song 'Unholy,' which Sam Smith and Kim Petras released last month, has been remixed by Disclosure.
The producer team extends the song's original runtime by a minute in the remix, distorting its Arabian scale over a powerful house beat. Smith's vocals are muted by Disclosure throughout the chorus' choir-led section before Petras' impromptu lines are added at the song's last minute.

The remix was released days after the 10th anniversary of ‘Latch’, a fellow Smith and Disclosure collaboration that was first released in 2012.
Since then, the duo has collaborated on three more songs: ‘Together’ in 2013, ‘Writing's On The Wall’ and ‘Omen,’ both of which were included on Disclosure's album ‘Caracal’ in 2013.
In August, Disclosure shared a since-deleted Instagram video of the duo playing the song in front of a sizable crowd as a teaser for their 'Unholy' remix. In the same month, Smith posted a snippet of the original 'Unholy,' which quickly went viral on TikTok in advance of its September release. Of the track, Smith said ‘Unholy’ “was one of the most glorious creative moments I’ve ever had as an artist.”
He continued: “I’ve never had so much fun making a record… It was so cathartic and freeing to experiment like this and throw out the rule book.” ‘Unholy’ arrived ahead of Smith’s forthcoming studio album, the details of which are yet to fully emerge. Upon its release, the album will serve as a follow-up to 2020’s ‘Love Goes’.
Apart from Smith, Disclosure has collaborated with a slew of other A-list artists throughout the course of their three albums, including Lorde, The Weeknd, Miguel and London Grammar, among others. The duo's most recent studio album, ‘Energy’ from 2020, included contributions from Kelis, Aminé and Kehlani.
