Scarlett Johansson Calls ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ a ‘Lifelong Dream’ Come True at CinemaCon

To bring dinosaurs back to the big screen, ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ is going all out.

Scarlett Johansson unveiled previously unseen photographs, behind-the-scenes information, and exclusive video from the eagerly awaited movie at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas.  With fresh characters and exciting action, the most recent entry in the Jurassic franchise, which started more than 30 years ago with ‘Jurassic Park’, continues the story.

Director Gareth Edwards greeted an enthusiastic audience at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum as part of Universal Pictures’ presentation.  Mahershala Ali attended the occasion as well and assisted with the film’s introduction.

Johansson revealed that for more than 15 years, she had hoped to be a part of the franchise.  She expressed her desire to be engaged in any manner possible whenever a new Jurassic film was revealed.

In addition to expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Edwards described directing the seventh installment of the renowned series as an amazing privilege.  He remembered how he used to watch ‘Jurassic Park’ a lot as a kid, sometimes as much as ten times a year.  He quipped that until he got an email with the screenplay for the movie, he didn’t think there was anything he could do about his fixation.

Johansson commended Edwards for his commitment to creating a genuine film, which required shooting in isolated, inaccessible areas.  Creating a “roller coaster ride” for audiences was how Edwards characterized the event.

Johansson co-stars in the movie with David Iacano, Luna Blaise, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.

The tale, which takes place five years after the events of ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, centers on Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert who is in charge of a clandestine expedition to recover genetic material from the three largest dinosaurs on the planet.  Her squad meets a civilian family along the road whose boat was overturned by hazardous aquatic dinosaurs.  They discover a startling secret that has been kept from the world for decades while stranded on an island.

David Koepp, the author of the 1993 original ‘Jurassic Park’ film and its 1997 follow-up, ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’, authored the screenplay.

On 2nd July, 2025, ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ will be released in theaters.
