Scarlett Johansson Refuses to Join Instagram for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Promotion

Scarlett Johansson recently revealed that she turned down a proposal to join Instagram as part of the promotional campaign for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ from the film’s studio.

Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a clandestine operations specialist hired for a clandestine mission to infiltrate the island where the original research facility was situated, in the much-awaited seventh instalment of the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise.  The movie, which was directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) and stars Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali, will be released in theatres throughout the world on 2nd July.

Johansson disclosed in an interview with InStyle Magazine that Universal Pictures asked her to join Instagram before the movie’s premiere.  She acknowledged that she felt pressured to use social media, but in the end, she realized it wasn’t for her.  She wondered whether there was any way she could participate that was consistent with her ideals, but she came to the conclusion that it didn’t feel right.

Johansson has been avoiding social media for a long time because she finds it stressful, as she previously stated on the ‘Him & Her Show’ podcast.  She said that even a short period of time on Instagram made her nervous, remembering how she once lost herself for twenty minutes browsing through someone’s page before realizing she had squandered almost her whole lunch break.

Johansson avoids social media, although she recently made headlines when a film that was widely shared utilized an AI-generated image of her to criticize Kanye West’s online behaviour.
