Selena Gomez just dropped her new single “Lose You to Love Me” in a monologue-style, hauntingly beautiful music video that reflects her journey of self-discovery.

Gomez appears in an intimate setting in the monotone phone camera shot music video as she reflects on her painful past and takes viewers through her difficult journey to self love. It definitely leaves the listeners to sympathize with Gomez as she swerves between emotions of anger and contentment, while delivering the ballad.

Gomez co-produced the track with Finneas O Connell (songwriter and brother of singer Billie Eilish). The emotional ballad navigates the end of a toxic relationship, how she dealt with the traumas of it and came to love herself.

Selena Gomez put out her last album Revival back in 2015, but continued making music by collaborating with many artists through the years. She took a social media hiatus last year as she battled anxiety and depression following her recovery from lupus. She returned to the social media in early 2019, and thanked her fans for all the love and support.

During her short social media hiatus, she featured on the chart-topping track “Taki Taki” which also featured Ozuna and Cardi B. Her last single was a collab with Benny Blanco, Tainy and J Balvin, titled ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’.
