Selena Gomez Becomes The Most Followed Woman on Instagram

Amidst the latest Selena-Hailey-Kylie drama, Selena Gomez has become the most followed woman on Instagram! She is also the first woman to surpass 400 million followers. She took to Instagram to express her gratitude and appreciation for her fans and supporters from all around the world. 

“Wishing I could hug all 400 million of you,” Gomez captioned the photos she put on Instagram. 

In no time, she garnered 401 million Instagram followers! Just a few weeks ago, she had 381 million followers and was behind Kylie Jenner,  but ever since Kylie and Hailey were rumoured to be making fun of Selena, people not only followed Selena in large numbers, they also unfollowed Kylie. Christiano Ronaldo is the most-followed person on Instagram with 563 million followers with Lionel Messi following him with 443 million followers. 

Gomez also recently shared a makeup-free selfie, captioning it with her friend, Miley Cyrus’ lyrics, “Violet Chemistry” from ‘Endless Summer Vacation’. She returned to Instagram after four years and has handed over the posting rights to a team member because of her unhealthy relationship with the platform. 

“At one point Instagram became my whole world, and it was really dangerous. In my early 20s, I felt like I wasn’t pretty enough. There was a whole period in my life when I thought I needed makeup and never wanted to be seen without it,” she previously said in an interview.
