Selena Gomez Drops ‘De Una Vez’, A Tribute To Her Roots
Is there any language that we will not love to hear Selena Gomez‘s voice? Almost seems impossible. The singer has dropped the most anticipated track, ‘De Una Vez’ as a tribute to her Latin roots. And, trust us, she’s got the rhythm and it screams pop.
Selena Gomez speaks about the track, “I am incredibly proud of my Latin background…It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again and ‘De Una Vez’ is such a beautiful love anthem.”
Selena Gomez Speaks The ‘Heartbreak’ Language.
The song, ‘De Una Vez’ is produced by Tainy, Albert Hype, Jota Rose and NEON16 along with Los Perez who’s directed the video. The song shows us the process of evolution that Selena Gomez has gone through over the years. The vocals of the singer are not the only thing that is magical in the track, even the video has got mythical elements.
Towards the end of the song, we also see “Bailo Conmigo” which hints at another single. Does this mean, we might get a whole Spanish album by her? Well, this is the second Spanish track Selena Gomez released, in 2010, she dropped ‘Un Año Sin Lluvia‘.
What Does The Song Mean?
‘De Una Vez’ literally means ‘At Once’, but in the track, Selena Gomez refers to the exact moment her heart was broken. However, she picks herself up and says that she’s stronger than ever. The lyrics of the song are bound to give you the feels.
“It doesn’t hurt me like before / The injury from your love has healed. Once and for all / I am stronger on my own / And it’s not that I regret the past / I know that the time spent by your side cut my wings / But now my chest is bulletproof”. Pretty intense, right?
Selena Gomez Was Dropping Hints!
What may seem like a surprise song drop, is not so much. The singer’s song title was all over Mexico. Many fans took pictures of the murals painted on walls. After fans speculations on Twitter, the song is out via Interscope Records and UMG.
As we continue to play ‘De Una Vez’ on repeat, here’s to hoping Selena Gomez drops more Spanish tracks because she seems to have killed the Latin scene. Don’t you think so?
