Selena Gomez Says She’s ‘Working On Her Album’ And Is ‘Open to a Tour’
Selena Gomez revealed that she’s working on her album and is open to a tour. New music from Selena Gomez may soon be on its way. Speaking with Deadline for the outlet’s Crew Call podcast, released on 24th May, the ‘Lose You to Love Me’ singer confirmed that she is currently in Los Angeles and working on an LP.
When asked what’s next after season two of her hit Hulu series, ‘Only Murders in the Building’, on which she plays Mabel Mora, the 29-year-old responded, saying she is in L.A. working on her record. Gomez gave no more specifics about the upcoming album, which will be the follow-up to her 2020 album ‘Rare’ and her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación, both of which charted at No. 1 and No. 22 on the Billboard 200 chart, respectively.
Due to her busy schedule, Gomez is unsure if she will be travelling in promotion of the upcoming album, though she is open to the idea. She said on the show, that she is 100 percent open to a tour, but has obligations and things she wants to do, so she said when the time is perfect, it will happen. But it is not on the top of her priority list.
‘Only Murders in the Building’, in which Gomez co-stars with Steve Martin and Martin Short, may feature a musical number, according to Gomez. She said that she and Steve are apprehensive because she wants to be careful, when the interviewer suggested a cabaret musical number for the evening. She also mentioned that she loves Mabel and the fact that she is an extension of herself, so her concern is that it will develop into a pop-star thing, which is definitely not Mabel, she explained. She lastly said that she is not against it.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 2 will premiere on OTT on 28th June. Listen to Gomez discuss her album, tour and show in the video below.
