SEVENTEEN Sets New Sales Record; Pulls Big Numbers
South Korean boy group, SEVENTEEN, have surpassed all expectations, setting a new record for album sales in the first week. Their latest release, a mini album titled ‘Heng:garæ‘ has officially sold 1,019,025 copies as of June 26th.
Setting this new record, SEVENTEEN beats their previous best – 700,863 copies sold in the first week of release for their 2019 album, ‘An Ode’.
While ‘An Ode’ set those numbers in the first week (7 days), ‘Heng:garæ’ surpassess the group’s personal best in a matter of five days. The numbers are only going to go up from here.
With the news of these record-breaking numbers, the album by SEVENTEEN stands tall as the second highest-selling album in 2020, surpassed only by BTS’ latest studio album: ‘Map of the Soul: 7’.
Total first week sales figures for ‘Heng:garæ’ by SEVENTEEN will reach us at the end of the week, June 28th. Predictions posit that this mini album may be on its way to raking in millions in pure sales, so stay tuned.
SEVENTEEN are one of the most successful boy groups in K-Pop. In a recent management change, they now fall under BigHit Labels, the same agency representing BTS and TXT.
Debuting in 2015, SEVENTEEN have seen massive success in the industry. Setting new standards with their unique choreography, self-produced music and powerful stages, the boy group are one of the most popular faces of K-Pop today.
