In 2021, Anderson .Paak and Mars released ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic,’ which included the singles ‘Leave The Door Open,’ ‘Skate’ and ‘Smokin’ Out The Window.’

While Silk Sonic won four Grammys at the 2022 ceremony, with ‘Leave The Door Open’ winning in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song categories, Mars has now confirmed that the duo will not be submitting ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’ for consideration at the 2023 Grammys.

Talking about it, Mars said that they truly put their all on this record, but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully and humbly bow out of submitting their album this year. He also added that Andy, him and everyone else who worked on this project, won the moment the world responded to ‘Leave The Door Open’. Everything else was just icing on the cake.

Mars thanked the Grammys for allowing them to perform on their platform, not once but twice and awarding them at last year’s ceremony and said they’d be crazy to ask for anything more.
