Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre Drop an Energetic New Track, ‘Outta Da Blue’
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have unveiled their dynamic new single, Outta Da Blue. Featured on their upcoming album, Missionary, this track offers the first glimpse into the highly anticipated project, marking the duo’s first full-length collaboration since Snoop’s iconic debut album, Doggystyle, in 1993. The song includes verses from Dr. Dre and showcases singer Alus on the chorus, blending in an interpolation of M.I.A.’s Paper Planes. Check out Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s Outta Da Blue below.
The album Missionary is set for release on December 13 through Death Row Records, the legendary hip-hop label Snoop Dogg acquired in 2022. The project is expected to feature several notable artists, including Sting.
Although Dr. Dre had initially aimed for a November release, he described Missionary as distinct from Snoop’s debut album Doggystyle, explaining that it represents a new level of maturity in Snoop’s lyrics and his own production. He shared that he considers the music on this album to be some of the best he has ever created.
In a recent interview, Dr. Dre reflected on his deep connection with Snoop Dogg, which he said extends far beyond studio sessions. He admitted that performing without Snoop felt unnatural due to the unique synergy they share. While discussing their dynamic, Dre noted that on stage, Snoop takes center stage as the superstar, while he sees himself as the co-star. However, he emphasized that their roles shift in the studio, where Dre takes the lead as the driving force behind their music.
Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, recently spoke about meeting rapper Sexyy Red for the first time, telling her she possessed undeniable star power. Additionally, Snoop reportedly earned $9 million (£7.1 million) for his memorable performances during this year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
