Snoop Dogg Responds to Backlash Over Trump Inauguration Appearance

In a video posted on Instagram, Snoop Dogg discussed the backlash he received after playing at President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Ball. The 53-year-old rapper said he chose to answer hate with love in response to the negativity while smoking what looked like a blunt as he was in his car. Reaffirming his identity and pride as a Black man, he urged others to choose their own lives over his. He stressed the importance of remaining loyal to himself and stated that he is still “all out until you ball out or fall out.”
During an interview with the ‘R&B Money Podcast’ recently, Snoop gave more details about how he responds to criticism. He claimed that hate accompanies success and described how he handles it via love and self-actualisation, arguing that love is the most powerful antidote to negative.
Earlier in January, Snoop performed at the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., which also featured appearances by Soulja Boy and Rick Ross. Nelly performed at the Liberty Ball on 20th January.

Snoop has previously spoken out against political leaders and followers. Snoop voiced strong opinions against Trump and his supporters in an appearance on DJ Suss ‘One’s SiriusXM’ show in September 2018. He wasn’t afraid to call them out, calling Trump fans racist and expressing his position with strong language.
Additionally, Snoop chastised Kanye West for openly supporting Trump and associating him with those he felt heightened social and racial divisiveness. Snoop claims that Trump’s presidency exacerbated tensions between people from various racial and social backgrounds by erecting barriers that didn’t exist before.
