Sophie Turner Recommends ‘Game of Thrones’ Co-Star Kit Harington For ‘The Dreadful’
Sophie Turner has recently shared insights into her upcoming projects, ‘Joan and The Dreadful’, in an interview. In ‘The Dreadful’, she stars alongside her Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington, revealing that she was instrumental in casting him for the role.
“They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, ‘You can’t not have Kit,’” she stated. The film, set during the Wars of the Roses, promises a return to the dramatic aesthetics of their previous series, with Turner hinting, “we’ll probably be floating about in robes on cliff tops again.”

Turner also reflected on her journey as a child actress, having started her career at just 15 with ‘Game of Thrones’. She advised parents considering the industry for their children, saying, “I’d say to any parent, if your child wants to get into the industry, wait until their frontal lobe has formed, which is 25.”
Her caution stems from personal challenges, including battles with depression and an eating disorder, as well as navigating her divorce from Joe Jonas after four years of marriage. Throughout her career, Turner credited her GoT sister, Maisie Williams, with providing crucial support.
“Without her, I don’t know where I’d be,” she remarked, adding a touch of humour: “In a crack den somewhere.” Despite her successes, Turner admitted to being highly self-critical of her performances.
In the upcoming drama Joan, where she portrays a glamorous diamond thief, she expressed her relentless quest for perfection.
“It’s just, ‘I could have done that better,’” she explained. The actress described how Joan allows her to explore a more glamorous side, saying, “It’s such a big part of Joan, the glitz and the glamour, so we really leant in hard to the costumes, the hair, the make-up.” Through these projects, Turner continues to evolve as an actress while reflecting on the challenges she has faced in the industry.
