Steve Aoki to Join K-Pop Star T.O.P as Part of SpaceX Voyage to The Moon!

Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa’s ‘dearMoon project’ will take a trip around the moon next year. The passengers will include Steve Aoki, who will be accompanied by musician T.O.P, YouTuber Tim Dodd and Indian actor Dev Joshi among others.
This trip will be Yusaku’s second space journey. He completed a 12-day trip to the International Space Station on the Soyuz Russian spaceship. The tycoon said in his announcement that 8 people will be aboard the SpaceX spaceship for the ‘dearMoon Project’. Yusaku has been planning the project since 2018, having bought all the seats on the spaceship.
Filmmaker Brendan Hall, photographer Karim Illiya, Czech artist Yemi AD and Irish photographer Rhiannon Adam are the others set to go on the journey. American Olympic snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington and Japanese dancer Miyu were chosen as backups.
The group are some of the first to travel on the SpaceX vehicle. The trip is estimated to be about a week long. Although the spaceship will not land on the moon, it will circle it for around 3 days.
Steve Aoki said, “Since I was a little I was dreaming of going to the moon. It’s becoming more and more real every day. Still hard to believe but very excited for this amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To the moon!”
Yusaku Maezawa’s net worth is estimated at $1.9 billion. He made his millions in retail fashion, having launched ‘Zozotown’, Japan’s largest online fashion mall. The Japanese billionaire resigned as the CEO to prioritize space travel. The exact dates of the project haven’t been announced yet.
