Styles Needs his Dose of Watermelon Sugar

Harry Styles played it cool this past weekend and dropped Watermelon Sugar an hour before debuting the track on Saturday Night Live. The performance quickly garnered over 1M views on YouTube, and too up the No.1 spot on Twitter’s worldwide trends as fans tried to navigate the sudden release and stay calm.

In 2017, Styles appeared on SNL as a musical guest hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The singer, who regularly surprises his fans with his eccentric style, came out with guns blazing this year, donning a red suit and a black tie, with his nails painted red. “Watermelon Sugar” is the second single from the album “Fine Line”, due for release on the 13th of December. Apart from Watermelon Sugar, the singer previously released “Lights Up” – the first single from the album, which broke out on the Billboard Hot 100 at a strong No. 17.

Styles is slated to kick off his “Love on Tour” in the month of April, 2020. The English singer started his career on the singing competition X Factor and later formed One Direction with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson. The boyband, who sold over 50 million records worldwide, are currently on hiatus, exploring their solo careers.

Styles teased SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE to his 24.7 M followers on Instagram with a picture of himself donning a pink Tutu. Aptly, one fan commented: “say what you want about his music but look at him crushing gender roles like an
absolute king.” In his SNL mmonologue, the singer joked about One Direction mentioning Niall, Liam, Louis and forgets Zayn and later mentioned it,” Ringo, yeah that’s it.”
