Sunmi Tells That She Was Offered IVE’s ‘Love Dive’ at First
Sunmi, a K-pop singer, has revealed that she could have been the one to leak IVE’s new track, ‘Love Dive.’
The singer and former Wonder Girl member listened to music and interacted with fans during a recent V Live broadcast. Sunmi played the new IVE single during the stream and disclosed that she had originally been offered the song.
Sunmi is seen singing along to the song before explaining her personal history with it in a footage preserved by a fan on Twitter. “This ‘Love Dive’ is actually one of the songs I received a demo track for,” she revealed.
“I received the demo, and it was really my style, but I felt that it was a song that would be more charming if sung by a group rather than a soloist. It’s a bit of a pity,” she added. The singer “I received the demo, and it was really my style, but I felt that it was a song that would be more charming if sung by a group rather than a soloist. It’s a bit of a pity,” she added. The singer also said that IVE’s version of the track is more “refreshing and cool” than the demo she had heard.
Sunmi was also taken aback by some of the fan responses, which suggested that the song would have been appropriate for her as well.
IVE released ‘Love Dive,’ coupled with the B-side tune ‘Royal,’ as their second-ever single earlier this month. The release occurred barely four months after the six-member ensemble made their debut in December with the single album ‘Eleven’.
KPOP.FLEX, a European K-pop festival, announced in February that IVE would play on both days of its forthcoming May performance at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany. ENHYPEN, (G)I-DLE, EXO’s Kai, MONSTA X, and others are among the other performers on the bill.
