‘Superman’: Watch Krypto Rescue the Man of Steel in a New Five-Minute Clip

A new five-minute teaser for James Gunn's next ‘Superman’ movie has been released by DC Studios, providing fans with a first look at the eagerly awaited reboot.

The video, which debuted recently on DC Studios' official YouTube and social media accounts, opens with David Corenswet's character Superman falling into the Arctic.  Wailing for help from his devoted friend, Krypto the Superdog, he is pummeled and bruised.  Before cooling down, the energetic puppy inadvertently jumps on his hurt owner, causing him more pain.  Krypto is then told by Superman to lead them to the Fortress of Solitude.

When highly skilled Kryptonian robots examine his wounds inside the stronghold, they find internal damage and several fractured bones.  Using yellow sunlight, they attempt to heal him and give him back his strength.  A montage of Superman in action that alludes to different scenes in the movie closes the segment.

This new video comes after two previous teasers: a December clip that debuted Krypto in live-action and a January teaser.  Some fans conjectured that Corenswet's visage had been digitally altered after the January preview elicited conflicting emotions.  In response to the allegations, Gunn said that the discrepancy in appearance was caused by camera lens distortion and that there was no CGI alteration.

The new DC Universe (DCU), a new interpretation of the franchise that will create a seamless continuity across all upcoming films, will begin with Superman, which is slated for release on 11th July.  ‘Clayface’ in 2026 and ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ will come after the movie.

In addition to Corenswet, the cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced in minor roles.  Jack Quaid earlier disclosed that he had tried out for the ‘Superman’ part but had not advanced past the audition round.
