Sydney Sweeney to Star in and Produce Thriller ‘I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl’ at Warner Bros

With Sydney Sweeney starring and producing, ‘I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl’ through her production business, Fifty-Fifty Films, Warner Bros. has a thrilling new thriller in the works.

 The movie is based on a well-known Reddit short story by Joe Cote about a drifter who pretends to be a missing girl in order to defraud the girl’s family, only to find out she has made a serious error.  The story will be adapted for the big screen by renowned screenwriter Eric Roth, who is best known for his work on ‘Dune’ and ‘Forrest Gump’.

 The film features a formidable production team that includes Steven Schneider, Trevor Engelson, Aaron Folbe, and Roy Lee from ‘Vertigo’.

Sydney Sweeney is best recognized for her parts in ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The White Lotus’, she has been getting more active behind the scenes and creating major parts in the films she plays in.  She served as executive producer of the popular romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’, which made $220.3 million worldwide and was a huge box office blockbuster.  She also promoted the horror movie ‘Immaculate’, which was distributed by Neon and had its SXSW debut.

 Sweeney has a ton of important projects planned for the future.  She is the star and executive producer of Paul Feig’s thriller ‘The Housemaid’, in which she portrays a lady who accepts a position as a housemaid for an affluent couple only to discover perilous secrets.  The movie, which also stars Brandon Sklenar and Amanda Seyfried, is scheduled for release around Christmas 2025.

She will also play Kim Novak in the Miramax movie ‘Scandalous!’, which was directed by Colman Domingo and focuses on her covert relationship with 1950s superstar Sammy Davis Jr.  Sweeney is also starring and producing the upcoming biopic of female boxing legend Christy Martin, which is directed by David Michôd.

 She will next be seen with Julianne Moore, Kyle MacLachlan, and Domhnall Gleeson in the Apple movie ‘Echo Valley’.
